Kantina Edoni Winery
Excellence in Albanian Winemaking Since 1998

About Us

Heritage. Craftsmanship. Commitment.

Kantina Edoni was officially established in 1998, though its origins date back to 1992, when the Oboni family first acquired land near Berat. What began as a personal pursuit has grown into a respected name in Albanian viticulture, built on tradition, guided by innovation, and defined by uncompromising quality.
Led by master winemaker E.O., the winery remains family-run, with a philosophy rooted in precision, integrity, and a deep respect for the land.

Our Wines

A Curated Portfolio of Distinctive Albanian Wines

Our winemaking philosophy centers on expressing the character of Berat’s terroir through both native and international grape varieties. Each wine is crafted with intention, reflecting the balance, structure, and nuance that define Kantina Edoni.
Our current portfolio includes Pulez, a vibrant native white known for its crisp minerality; Shesh i Bardhë, a refined expression of Albania’s traditional white grape; Shesh i Zi, a robust and structured red with a strong regional identity; and Cabernet Sauvignon, an elegant, layered wine with a distinctive local signature. Kantina Edoni is also recognised for its Merlot and Riesling, both celebrated for their purity and finesse.

The Winery

Architecture Inspired by Heritage

Kantina Edoni’s facility is a harmonious fusion of tradition and innovation, deeply rooted in the historic spirit of Berat. Inspired by the city’s rich Ottoman-era wooden architecture and Albanian craftsmanship, the design pays homage to the intricate artistry and structural elegance of the past. Echoes of 19th-century influences, particularly from Ottoman and regional architectural styles, are thoughtfully integrated into a space dedicated to wine production, tasting, and celebration.

The Terroir of Berat

A Landscape That Shapes Every Vintage

Our vineyards are located in the hills surrounding Berat, where the climate, soil, and elevation work together to create optimal growing conditions.
The region benefits from a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. These conditions, combined with a strong variation between day and night temperatures, help enhance grape complexity and aromatic development. The soil is fertile, rich in minerals, and naturally well-drained, supporting healthy vine growth while encouraging quality over yield.
The vineyards are primarily situated on hillside slopes, allowing for excellent sun exposure, air circulation, and water drainage, which contribute to the concentration and health of the fruit. This landscape supports both indigenous and international varieties, enabling us to produce wines that are expressive, balanced, and rooted in place.

Philosophy

Precision in Every Step

Every bottle of Kantina Edoni wine begins with a careful selection of grapes, made possible through long-standing partnerships with trusted local growers. This collaboration ensures that only the highest quality fruit reaches our cellar.
Our approach is meticulous, with every aspect of the winemaking process from vineyard management to fermentation, guided by expertise, experience, and a dedication to producing wines of character and integrity. At Kantina Edoni, authenticity and excellence are not aspirations, they are standards.
